We are the Merseyside and West Cheshire Unlock Democracy Group, active in field of democratic reform for nearly two decades. We campaign for transparent, accountable and open government.

We are a cross party group which also includes reformers of no particular party affiliation. We have mutual respect for each other and we campaign on issues that we all agree on, such as voting, constitutional and political reform. We have also campaigned for a democratically elected second chamber, i.e. the House of Lords, and spoken on BBC Radio Merseyside on the Roger Phillips phone in. This programme is on air every weekday for two hours, and is extremely popular and is listened to by tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people. We spoke and discussed with Roger on issues of local democratic reform, such as City and Regional Mayors, the Cabinet system of governance, 100% and large majority Local Councils, and STV for Local Government, which follows from large majority Local Councils.
