5. Does your charity spend more than £5,000 a quarter on lobbying?
If your charity spends more than £5,000 on lobbying - based on a good faith estimate of lobbying spend (including staff salaries) you may be registrable.
The register includes a threshold that exempts charities that spend relatively little on lobbying. The suggested threshold is £5,000 per quarter.
If you have reached this point without reaching a STOP sign, it is likely that your lobbying would be registrable. The process is very simple and should take less than an hour per quarter for most charities.
