For the final event in our Unlock Magna Carta tour, we'll be in Frome on Sunday 13th September, for a packed day of practical action and democratic debate.
Joining forces with the pioneers of 'Flatpack Democracy' from Frome town council, this free, public event will offer hands-on experience of citizen-led democracy, with a focus on people-powered participation.
We'll be joined by Clive Stafford Smith (Reprieve), Neal Lawson (Compass), Molly Scott Cato MEP, Pat Kane (Scottish activist and musician), John Harris (the Guardian), Peter Macfadyen (Flatpack Democracy), Pippa Goldfinger (Engaging Women) as well as representatives from Podemos, Fossil Free Bristol and many more...
Join us on the 13th and get involved in taking back your democracy!
The day will be focused on new democratic movements of all kinds, from the local to the global, with working groups on: DIY democracy; the future of UK party politics; engaging women in democracy; fossil fuel divestment; lessons from abroad....
There will also be the chance to put your own ideas on the agenda in our open space debates, designed to let the people direct the discussion.
The event is free to attend and open to all, and will be held from 2pm - 7pm at the Cheese and Grain in Frome, followed by live music and the chance to continue the conversation over food and drinks in the bar.
