On the twelfth day of Christmas, we’d like to look back at some of the fantastic campaigns you helped us make possible in 2015:
in the run-up to the election, over one million people used the Vote Match app to find their political match
following the most disproportionate election result in history, nearly half a million people, including five party leaders, signed our joint petition for a fairer voting system
during the election campaign, we collected thousands of election leaflets and ran surveys on your experience of the election
over the summer, we helped members organise Pankhurst Picnics to get together and talk about reform, from Calderdale to Worcester
thousands of you wrote to your MP on issues from voter registration to Lords reform
we held public meetings across the country from prisons to Parliament to draft a 21st century Magna Carta
after the Scottish government finally published their long-awaited plans for a lobbying register, we’ve been campaigning to beef up the Bill
There are many challenges ahead for reformers in 2016. In the past few months, David Cameron’s government have announced sweeping proposals to weaken or overturn laws that are cornerstones of our democratic society. Their plans will affect who is registered to vote, whether our human rights are protected and who has the information to hold the government to account.
The government want to tear up the foundations of our democracy. We want to save them. That’s why we need your help. If you haven’t done so already, please support our campaigns by giving £20 to our Democracy SOS Fund today. Every penny will go into campaigning to battle these threats.
