Voting Reform: Gathering our thoughts

Last weekend our own Owen Winter attended his first meeting of the Electoral Reform Society council. I was extremely pleased at his success. At 16, Owen has gone from a GCSE student and member of the youth parliament to a spokesperson for a movement with over 200,000 supporters and an elected representative in one of the oldest political organizations in the country.

I am also thankful to regard Owen as a colleague. We joined together with others to make the Great Gathering happen at the end of July and we have since been working on gaining support for our declaration as well as approaching parties and organizations to join us in making change possible.

Now we are thinking of the future and we would like as many of you as possible to contribute to that process.

We have created a survey we would like to ask you to take part in. If you would please take a minute or two to answer the questions and add any comments you may have we are planning to take that feedback on board to plan our next steps.

Events outside of reform often take precedence but it is important to keep this issue alive throughout this parliament. Indeed, many of the decisions that affect us will happen as a result of the system we find ourselves in. We wish to thank you for your continued support.
