Unlock Democracy Birmingham was set up in the aftermath of the referendum on AV held in May 2011 by young local activists.

Since its inception, UDB has campaigned for House of Lords reform, against the ‘Gagging Law’ Lobbying Act, organised events on subjects such as local devolution and submitted contributions to Select Committee reports.   The group regularly meets in the Anchor pub for Democracy Drinks, as well as organising events such as debates, workshop-style events and a Pankhurst Picnic.

Unlock Democracy Birmingham can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
